My name is Deirdre O’Leary Vos, and I am a midwife passionate about facilitating positive, safe and empowering pregnancies and births.
After qualifying as a midwife in the Netherlands in 2012 I worked as a community midwife for home births and also as a clinical midwife in a hospital labour ward. My experience in these areas helps me to offer the best of both worlds to the women and babies that I care for.
I believe that midwifery-led care, and the home birth service, lead to a deeply satisfying and empowering pregnancy and birth experience. This is why I am delighted to be working as a community midwife in West Cork, and assisting parents who want to enjoy personal one-to-one midwifery care and would like to give birth in the comfort of their own home.
I have three children of my own, two were born in the Netherlands and the third at home in West Cork, using the very same trusted HSE home birth service and midwives that I am very proud to work with.
